Henley

An explorers garden.

Our clients travel the world on walking holidays, specifically with a love for coastal walks and Corten. Inspired by a meandering coastal walk, we created a gravel circuit around the garden. Raised planters varying in height interrupt to force an indirect route whilst screening little break-out areas for sitting and socialising or introspection.

An entertainers garden.

Hosting large parties year-round, including being part of a band it was critical for us to create spaces for entertaining. Our client required a casual seating area, space to double as a stage, a fire pit, space for a marquee and a dining area that was shielded from the direct sun in summer to house 10-20 people weekly.

A vibrant garden.

Monotone was not our client’s style, colour, and energy, everywhere, and all year. As a long directly south facing garden with imposing 18m ash trees at the rear, we used the planting along the circuit to transition from coastal and Mediterranean in the most sun exposed house end to slowly meander into a woodland planting before working back into full sun planting.
